Stilbite
Stilbite, a member of the zeolite mineral group, forms in a fascinating geological process. It typically crystallizes in cavities of basaltic volcanic rocks, a result of low-temperature hydrothermal activity. These cavities, or vesicles, are created by gas bubbles during the solidification of lava. Over time, as groundwater percolates through these rocks, it deposits various minerals, including the components of stilbite. The unique crystal structure of stilbite, characterized by its sheaf-like aggregates and pearly luster, is a product of this slow and steady mineral deposition.
In metaphysical terms, stilbite is highly regarded for its calming and soothing properties. It's believed to foster clarity of thought and to aid in decision-making processes, particularly in circumstances requiring emotional intelligence. Stilbite is often associated with the heart and crown chakras, thought to deepen love and compassion, both towards oneself and others. Practitioners of crystal healing use stilbite to encourage inner peace, and to aid in meditation and sleep, believing it helps in accessing and understanding one's dreams. This gentle energy is also considered helpful in overcoming grief or loss, providing support in the journey of healing and emotional recovery.
