Green opal from Madagascar is a relatively new discovery and has only been commercially available since the late 1990s. It is typically translucent to opaque, and its variety of green coloration is due to the presence of nickel, a common impurity in many types of opals.

One of the unique features of Madagascar green opal is its "dendritic" or tree-like inclusions, which can create interesting patterns within the stone. These inclusions are formed by the deposition of other minerals, such as manganese or iron, within the opal matrix.

Green opals are often used to help reduce stress and anxiety, promote emotional balance, and enhance communication and self-expression. As a palm stone, it’s an excellent pocket crystal to carry with throughout your day!
