The striking laser-like pieces of black tourmaline within this quartz tower are formed through a complex process known as "granite pegmatite." Put simply, this is when a super hot, silicone-rich solution leaks into open areas and cools down slowly. While cooling, a few other elements join in (like iron, aluminum, sodium and boron), providing the necessary ingredients for these strips of black tourmaline to form. When suspended within a quartz tower, these black tourmalines are immortalized. What better way to appreciate this naturally occurring magic?
